GARBAGE/RECYCLING COLLECTION
Modern Disposal collects garbage/recycling for the Town. Holidays of New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Christmas Day falls on your garbage day, it will be collected the following day. Here is a link to the 2026 Holiday Pickup Schedule
Refuse should not be set out before 5 pm the day prior to collection and empty containers must be removed from curbside by 6 pm the day of collection. Modern Disposal will take one large item (mattress, couch, table etc.) with your regular garbage pick-up. MODERN DISPOSAL DUMP PASS
Modern Disposal and the Town of Lewiston have arranged to provide free dumping privileges for Town and Village residents at Modern Landfill Community Drop Off Center located at Harold and Pletcher Road. Residents are allowed to drop off trash, recyclables, most electronics, tires, and bulky items once per day, weekdays from 9:00am - 3:00pm and the first Saturday of each month from 7:00am - 12:00pm. A permit needs to be obtained from the Clerk's Office at no cost. Proof of residency will be required. ACCEPTABLE/UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS
